Montague Mountain Bike (Paratrooper)

I bought a Montague Paratrooper which is folding mountain bike in October of 2010 to use on my daily commute from Tracy, Ca. to Oakland, Ca. aboard the Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) system and to go out and conquer some mountains. I was super excited to have the dual purpose (commute and fun) bike delivered; I immediately took it to the bike shop to have everything once overed, tightened and tuned. Got it back and began the commute side of my venture. With the flexibility of putting it in the trunk of my car it immediately proved to be a wise choice and purchase. The Oooooh's and Awwwwe's that I receive from passenger's and other biker's as I effortlessly fold the bike in less than 20 seconds on the crowded train and comfortably take a seat with my bike in front of me while others have to stand holding their bike's upright is also nice, many conversations have started with the questions other commuters have about this bike as it is unique and all in all a great looking bike. I must also say that the bike runs flawlessly on the pavement and makes easy work of the couple mile portion of my morning and afternoon "adventure" of commuting through Oakland, Ca. I have logged over 400 hundred miles on the Paratrooper so far and have had no major issues. Just a few adjustments to the brakes after the cables were broken in and need to have some minor adjustments to the derailleur's sometime soon due to the same.
Now for the disappointing part. Not with the bike but with myself, I have yet to take the darn thing to any mountain or hill let alone venture off the beaten path of city streets and sidewalks. It seems like such an easy thing to do yet I just can't seem to find the time to get out there and really have some fun on it.  I know that it will perform as I expect it to, I know that I will have a blast, I know that I just need to get out there and do it. So I suppose the only thing to do is to just do it....
Have you ever bought something with great excitement and enthusiam just to get in your own way and not see it through? Leave a comment about it get excited again and just do it....
